Quantitative analyses of products from chemical recycling of polylactide (PLA) by alcoholysis with various alcohols and their applications as healable lactide-based polyurethanes

Highlights

•A process for chemical recycling of PLA by alcoholysis is developed for circular economy.
•Standard quantitative analysis techniques are developed by FTIR, 2D-NMR and 1H-NMR.
•Reactivity of different alcohols toward the alcoholysis reactions is investigated.
•The alcoholyzed PLA products are used as starting materials for PLA-based polyurethanes.
•The PU materials exhibit excellent mechanical properties, with healing property.
